Basic functions of the Honorary Consulate:

* supporting in the state of residence of the promotion of the interests of the Republic of Moldova, especially in the economic, commercial, investment, technical, scientific, cultural and tourist fields and the development of friendly relations between the Republic of Moldova and this state;

* establishing formal relations with the institutions and organizations of the Republic of Moldova through the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in China and relations with the consular district authorities, especially in the field of trade, acting as a means of communication between the authorities and the authorities of the Republic of Moldova;

* informs the authorities, economic agents and other specialized institutions of the state of residence about the evolution of economic, commercial, scientific and cultural life in the Republic of Moldova;

* proposes measures to promote the values of Culture, Art and science of the people of the Republic of Moldova, supports the organization of Moldovan cultural-artistic events (art exhibitions, film galas, conferences, symposia, etc.);

* protects the rights and interests of citizens of the Republic of Moldova, natural and legal persons of the Republic of Moldova, in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Moldova and within the limits permitted by the legislation of the state of residence and international law;

* provides assistance in cases of arrest, incarceration, extradition, repatriation, evacuation or death of citizens of the Republic of Moldova, within the limits of the consular district;

* provides information to citizens of the Republic of Moldova about the procedure for the provision of consular services by the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in China, based in Beijing, in accordance with the current legislation of the Republic of Moldova;

* provides applicants with adequate assistance in correctly filling out documents with the issuance of the necessary forms and informs about the procedure for preparing passports, travel documents, visas and other documents by the Embassy;

* provides assistance to Moldovan ships and maritime crews and aircraft, including car drivers, who need help (shipwreck, accidents, etc.);

* provides protocol and logistical assistance necessary for organizing visits to the state of residence of official persons of the Republic of Moldova (organizing meetings with officials or other persons of the state of residence, organizing formalities related to transport, housing, etc.);

* informs the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in China about important economic, commercial, financial, cultural and technical-scientific events that are organized in the consular district for the participation of economic agents and specialized institutions of the Republic of Moldova;

* organizes, with the agreement of the embassy, press conferences and supports the dissemination of information about the Republic of Moldova in the local media in order to know the realities of the country;

* performs, at the indication of the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in China, any other functions, which do not contradict the legislation of the Republic of Moldova and the state of residence, as well as international norms.
