TRANSCRIPTION OF THE CIVIL STATUS DOCUMENTS

Transcription of civil status documents

Files for transcribing civil status documents are submitted personally to the embassy. Following the positive opinion from the Civil Status Service (approx. 2 months), follows each applicant to come personally to the embassy, to pick up the transcribed certificate with the presentation of the documents in the original at the time established by the consular official.

For the transcription of the birth certificate issued by the authorities of a foreign state after 17.08.2001, the applicant shall submit the following documents:

* application for transcription of the birth certificate (in original+1 copy);
* Chinese birth certificate translated and legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China and by the Moldova Embassy, in original.
* valid parental identity cards • 2 copies);
* marriage certificate • 2 copies);
* birth certificates of parents • 2 copies)

For the transcript of the Marriage Act issued by the authorities of a foreign state after 17.08.2001, the applicant shall submit to the embassy the following acts:

* application for transcription of the Marriage Act (in original+1 copy);
* Chinese marriage certificate translated and legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China and by the Moldova Embassy, in original;
* valid identity cards of applicants • 2 copies);
* birth certificates of applicants • 2 copies);
* proof of payment of consular and related fees.

For the transcription of the act of change of name / surname issued by the authorities of a foreign state after 17.08.2001, the applicant must submit to the Embassy the following acts:

* request for transcription of the act of change of name/surname(in original + 1 copy);
* the certificate about the change of name and / or surname (if the change of name resulted from the conclusion of the marriage, the documents for the transcription of the Marriage Act are to be submitted) (in original + 1 copy);
* valid identity card of the applicant • 2 copies);
* birth certificate of the applicant • 2 copies);
* proof of payment of consular and related fees.

Note:

In accordance with the law on civil status documents, no. 100 of 26.04.2001 (published on 17.08.2001 in the Official Gazette No. 97-99, art. No. 765), civil status documents (birth, marriage, change of name, etc.) of citizens of the Republic of Moldova drawn up by the competent bodies of foreign countries have proving power in the Republic of Moldova only if they are transcribed in the civil status registers of the Republic of Moldova.
Civil status documents registered by the authorities of a foreign state 17.08.2001 are to be transcribed in the civil status registers of the Republic of Moldova. This procedure involves the completion of the Moldovan civil status certificate.
The request for the transcript is to be resolved within 2 months from the day of submission, and for good reasons, the deadline may be extended.

REGISTRATION OF MARRIAGE AT THE EMBASSY

Registration of marriage between citizens of the Republic of Moldova.

For filling the application for registration of marriage at the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in China, if the applicants are both citizens of the Republic of Moldova, at the request for registration of marriage, the following documents will be submitted:

* Declaration of marriage and The Annex to the declaration of marriage (both forms can be obtained at the embassy or by accessing the following web page: http://www.stare-civila.gov.md/pages/casatorie-inregistare);
* valid identity cards of both spouses;
* birth certificates of future spouses.

and as appropriate:

* proof of dissolution/termination of previous marriage;
* decision of the local public administration authority and parental consent, in case of reduction of matrimonial age (for minors under the age of 18).

All documents will be accompanied by 2 photocopies
Also, applicants will present the bank note for the payment of the consular fee of 50 euros and the related fee of 20 euros.

Note: after submitting all the necessary documents, a period of at least one month will be set for the registration of marriage but will not exceed the period of two months from the date of filing the declaration of marriage. It is mandatory to personally present the future spouses for filing the statement.
